Meet the Instructor
Kathy Donner has been in the decorating business since 1991 and Creative Redesigns, her successful redesign and home staging firm, is a testimony to her commitment to a "job well done" and industry professionalism. She is a certified instructor, redesigner and home stager with the National Redesign Institute (NRI). Before deciding to affiliate herself with the National Redesign Institute exclusively, she was a certified redesigner and home stager with Interior Redesign Industry Specialists (IRIS) and an associate member with the Interior Design Society (IDS). Kathy has had several articles published in IRIS trade magazines and NRI newsletters and has taught decorating seminars for Ashley Furniture Homestores and SteinMart. Her high energy 1-Day Decorating Workshops are informative, fun, and filled with decorating advice that everyone can use and her 5-Day Certification Course is second to none. It equips students with all the tools necessary to start a business of their own.
Kathy is committed to teaching solid redesign and home staging principles coupled with decorating secrets and hints presented in a hard-working, fun-loving atmosphere. She will teach you what you need to know to transform stale rooms into warm, beautiful spaces. You’ll also learn how to get your business up and running and how to create good client relationships.
In addition to classroom instruction, you will get hands-on redesigning experience in clients’ homes, doing real “roll up your sleeves” redesigns. This technique provides invaluable practical experience and gives you a working knowledge of redesign.
Each day will include morning classroom instruction from an NRI approved manual and each afternoon will be scheduled for in-home redesigns. Daily classes will conclude with an evaluation and discussion of the day’s redesign.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive your certification as an NRI certified redesigner and home stager with all the recognition and benefits that designation provides.

Directions: From the intersection of Broad Street and Parham Road, go 1 block east on Broad Street and make the first left turn onto Carousel Lane. Go 1/2 a block and it's the 4-story brown brick and glass building on the left.
Students are encouraged to bring their digital cameras for the purpose of taking “before” and “after” pictures of the redesigns. These pictures will form the beginnings of their portfolios.
